By Albert Nyakundi in Nairobi
A  parliamentary aspirant in Roysambu,Nairobi has vowed to pursue grabbed public land and to empower women and the youth.

The aspirant Kanana Magiri Baini said the past leadership in the area was selfish leading to grabbing of public utilities. She said she will empower the youths as well as women who have turned to illicit brew to earn a living particularly in Kahawa west ,Soweto slum and Marurui which is a cosmopolitan area.

''It is difficult to fight illicit brew without empowering those involved in the business''.Baini  said. She noted that Roysambu which was hived from the larger Kasarani constituency did not have a government secondary school.''It is shameful that children have to walk for over 10 km to Kamiti secondary school''.

She accused the Kenya urban roads authority of failing to tarmack a 7km  Lumumba drive road , that connects Roysambu and the southern by-pass yet it had tarmacked access roads in the neighbouring Thome estate.
