Musa Mudde from Uganda |
By Fred Maingi
The future of Ugandan International midfielder Musa Mudde with the
Tanzania Mainland League champions Simba SC looks bleak after club
sources indicated he might be offloaded owing to his nagging injury.
He could join other two foreign players who have been shown the
door. They include Congolese duo of Lino Musombo and Kanu Miyavanga.
The club’s registration committee chairman, Zacharia Hanspope,
said there were great signs that the stocky and former Sofapaka FC
midfielder could be on his way out to pave way for impressive Malian
defender Komabil Keita.
Mudde, who joined his teammates recently, was in Uganda undergoing
rehabilitation after picking an injury during the Cecafa Kagame Cup.
Hanspope averred that Mudde was in the blacklist following an
injury that could land him in the treatment table for the better
part of the 2012/13 Vodacom Premier League matches.Besides, the source
disclosed that his injury would be a blessing in disguise for the
Malian defender who has so far impressed head coach Milovan Cirkovich.
“Mudde is one of the players Simba want to offload. His injury
means we won’t use him at least until early November, so the Ugandan
is certainly not in Cirkovic’s plan for the new season,” said the
source.
He added: “Keita has shown great ability on the pitch during our
warm-up matches and we can’t afford to miss his services for we face
tough assignments ahead.”
Simba who are currently camping in Arusha have several foreign
based players that include Kenyan Pascal Ochieng, Daniel Akuffor of
Ghana ,Felix Sunzu (Zambia), Mudde (Uganda) and Emmanuel Okwi also
from Uganda.
Simba, who defeated Kenya’s Mathare United 2-1 on Sunday in Arusha
were bundled out of the Kagame Cup in the quarterfinals by Azam .Their
believe in foreign players could land them in trouble as they have
recruited six foreign players, one more than what the Tanzania
Football Federation(TFF) rules and regulations stipulate.
