Raila`s party pleads with Kenyans over Miguna.

By Linus Ivayo
Kenyan Prime Minister Raila Odinga party, Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) has called on its members and Kenyans to give the author of the book peeling back the mask Mr.Miguna Miguna an ample time as he tours the country to market his book.

Miguna who is a former aide to Odinga has in the recent past had a rough time in places he has visited as youths have manhandled and roughed him with the latest incident being in Mombasa, the second biggest City after the capital Nairobi.

In Kisumu City which is the home tuff of Prime Minister Odinga, Miguna had to be rescued by Police from the angry youths who accused him of disrespecting Odinga as it happened in Mombasa on Saturday, August 25 where in the melee he lost one of his shoes, hat and spectacles.

The Prime Minister Odinga has of late asked Kenyans to ignore Miguna describing him as a ``madman`` in a market place. Miguna has said that his next stop to market his book is in Nyeri town on Monday, August 27.

Below is a statement issued by Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party by its Secretary General Prof.Anyang Nyong`o

Once more I would like to appeal to all Kenyans to desist from molesting Miguna Miguna in anyway as he tours Kenya to promote his book. The ODM condemns in strong terms what happened to Miguna Miguna in Kisumu and Mombasa. All Kenyans have constitutional rights of speech, assembly and association and all these should be accorded to him.
Prof. P. Anyang' Nyong'o.
ODM Secretary General.
