Aspirant for Nairobi Governorship calls for more allocation to Nairobi County

An aspirant for the seat of the Governor of Nairobi in next year`s General election in Kenya Evans Kidero has disagreed with the formula of revenue sharing as unveiled by the commission on Revenue allocation recently.

Speaking in Nairobi on Thursday, August 16 during a meet the people tour of different constituencies, Kidero said that Nairobi should be allocated at least 25 billion shillings since it has a population of 3 million people and has got high levels of urban poverty.

Kidero added that since Nairobi accounts for 65% of the gross development projects in the country there is need for it to be allocated more money.

The residents of Nairobi in areas he visited appealed to him to help in construction of hospitals and health facilities especially in slum areas.

he was accompanied by a Nairobi Businessman and Embakasi East parliamentary aspirant John Omondi Ogutu and the Nairobi City Council finance committee, Chairman Mr. Michael Ogada
