Married with three children, Balala has grown up, lived and worked in the port city of Mombasa all his life. His life has been one of continuous effort, striving against tremendous odds in an unbridled search for excellence.

Born on January 01,1973 Ali Hassan Joho who is also an Assistant Minister for Transport in recent cabinet mini-reshuffle effected by two Principals in the coalition Government. Is the Member of Parliament representing Mvita Constituency.

He is regarded as having performed well in his constituency by his constituents but in Parliament he is said to have only fought fought to redeem his image when he was linked to drugs business in Kenya and talked little about his constituency.

Mwalimu Masoud Mwahima who is the MP for Likoni came to the limelight after capturing the Shika Adabu civic ward over 15 years ago. After a shaky start in education, the self-made Mwahima went to a driving school in Mombasa to train as a heavy commercial trucks driver. He is in his late 60’s.Mwahima, who is a former Mayor of Mombasa, was a driver at the Bamburi Portland Cement factory for several years. Then he became a housing agent company manager.
He contested for the Shika Adabu civic seat for the first time in 1982 and lost. His second attempt in 1987 was successful. He has never lost since then. Mwahima sat for the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Examination (KCSE) as a private candidate in 2001 but according to Education officials at the Coast he failed.
His constituent have rated him as a poor performer and has almost never spoken in the Kenyan Parliament since he became an MP save on the day of swearing in only.
