Baby
Lexy, the daughter of Dr. Angela Awino McLigeyo and Dr. Denis Otieno, was
diagnosed with Leukaemia in November 2010 while admitted at the Nairobi
Hospital. After undergoing numerous surgeries including a Bone Marrow
Transplant (BMT) in India, Lexy was finally declared cancer-free in October
2011. Since then, Lexy has been in and out of hospital fighting various
complications arising from her compromised immunity from all the treatments and
surgeries she had to undergo. Her most recent admission at the Nairobi Hospital
saw her hospitalised in the Intensive Care Unit for 2 weeks suffering from
liver, kidney and blood complications, which she finally succumbed to on July
17, 2012.
The
family and friends of Baby Lexy are calling upon the public to help offset the
medical bill that is approximately Ksh. 4.5 Million. The fundraiser was held
on Friday 20, July, 2012 at the All Saint’s
Cathedral from 5:00pm. Contributions can also be sent to:
