1.Makadara
Constituency

Gideon
Mbuvi ``Sonko``
The
populous Makadara constituency popularly known as Eastlands is represented in
Parliament by Gideon Kioko Mbuvi alias Sonko who was born in 1975 and who is
regarded as an average performer in his constituency. Sonko who is believed to
be a form four graduate but who claims to have higher education than that is a
generous Member of Parliament and one who cannot be taken very seriously from
the many jokes he has and the way he presents himself in public.
The
Speaker of the National Assembly Mr. Kenneth Marende has on several times
threatened to throw him out of Parliament or reprimanded him several times for
not befitting the status of an honorable MP from the way he dresses.
He
has also found himself on the wrong side of the law after being arrested on
several occasions for leading demonstrations in his constituency and also being
involved in land deals in the Coastal region of Kenya.
But
he is popular among the youths and even recently recorded a song with a leading
Kenyan musician Jaguar and is regarded as very generous MP.
2.Dagoretti
Constituency
Dagoretti
Constituency which was part of the larger Kiambu Constituency upto 1960`s is represented
in the Kenyan Parliament by a Cousin to Deputy Prime Minister Mr.Uhuru Kenyatta,
Mrs. Beth Wambui Mugo who is also a Cabinet Minister in President Mwai Kibaki`s
Government. She holds the Public Health portfolio.
Dagoretti
Constituency boasts of producing top Kenyan Professional football striker
plying his trade in Europe Dennis ``Menace`` Oliech and majority of land there
is owned by indigenous people from the Agikuyu community though as a
cosmopolitan area people from other communities have acquired land through
purchasing them.
Mugo
who was born on May 11,1939 is said to have been more active in the
Constituency as an MP before being elevated to a full Minister and residents
are wondering and asking whether the Ministerial work has made her too busy
though their was a time when she was suffering from Cancer like his counterpart
in Medical health services Prof.Anyang Nyongo and had to travel abroad for
treatment.
Tomorrow
we take you to Embakasi and Starehe
