The Clean bill of health given to the Kenya Roads Board by the Kenya National Audit office,for proper management of the Kenya Roads board fund is quite encouraging and indeed a good sign that there are institutions in Kenya which ate run professionally and transparently.
The Kenya Roads board Annual report and financial statement for 2010-2011 June,is so elaborate to the extent that Mr.Edward R.Ouko-the Auditor General had to say this in his unqualified opinion in the report that ,``in my opinion,the financial statement presented fairly in all material respects,the financial position of the board as as June 30,2011 and the financial performance and cash flows for the year then ended in accordance with the International public sector accounting standards and comply with Kenya Roads Board act,cap 408 of the laws of Kenya``.
The quality management systems which was implemented by the Kenya Roads Board which also led to ISO Certification is also commendable.
It will be real good if other institutions can copy KRB.
