it hard for Ulinzi to make a breakthrough.

The hard fought  win hauled Gor to the third spot on the log standings
with 40 points behind Tusker and leaders AFC Leopards.

floating in dangerous crosses. Football fans will however live in the
satisfaction of the beautiful dish of football served as the big match
lived up to its billing with either side showing clear intent of
getting early goals but the first half would  not  give  the desired

Gor’s Victor Ali fired a warning salvo with a rasping free kick in the
10th minute but his attempt landed straight at Ulinzi’s custodian
Jacktone Odhiambo’s hands

In injury time Ali had the chance to grab his brace with yet another
screamer but it went off the cross bar with keeper Jacktone Odhiambo
well beaten
Ulinzi coach Sammy Simiyu blamed his strikers for failing to utilize
their chances. He said  his team lost fairly attributing his narrow
loss to poor finishing.
“ I cant complain. The match officiating was superb. The winning goal
was also marvelous. We lost fairly. We beat Gor in the first leg in
Nakuru with a similar margin. We must win our next matches  and I
believe  we still have a  chance if we shall win our home matches”said
 Simiyu
Gor coach Zdravco Lugarusic said he was delighted  with the win that
has hauled his team from fifth to second spot in the League Standing
with 40 points.’When I took over the team last season,I was not sure
whether we shall be in our present position.Indeed,I’m absolutely
happy. But this is a combined effort which starts from the playing
unit and our chanting supporters” he observed.
