Full house at Harambee Stars training camp

By Fred Maingi
It was a full house at the Harambee Stars training camp  over the weekend following  the arrival of Norway based keeper Arnold Origi.
Others who have joined the team include Israel based Patrick Osiako and Ayub Timbe of Genk Belgium.
The team is currently training at the Nyayo National Stadium ahead of Tuesday’s friendly match against South Africa’s B afana Bafana.
The three join the other local based stars and Dennis Oliech (France), Victor Mugubi (Scotland) and Brian Mandela from South Africa who already linked up with the team.
Given chance, this could be Ayub Timbe’s first match for Kenya after missing out previously despite numerous call ups by coach Kimanzi.
Coach Henri Michel on Friday recalled AFC Leopards' midfielder Charles Okwemba in place of Jerry Santos who is committed to club duty in Tanzania and could not get an immediate release letter from Coastal Union.
However, latest reports indicate Santos was on his way to Nairobi  to link up with the team.He was set to feature for his team that had a League match against Mainland champions Simba Sports Club.
Santos spent two seasons at the Msimbazi Street team before moving back to Nairobi with Tusker after expiry of his two year contract in November 2011.
He had a brief stint with the Kenyan champions Tusker before being snatched away by Coastal Union of Tanga. Today, Santos will be facing his former side for the first time since departing Dar es Salaam a year ago.
“It is a different feeling now, I meet my old team mates but while playing for a different team,” Santos said .
Santos has been enjoying steady form for Coastal Union this season having managed to score four goals so far.
