By Fred Maingi Kenya’s Harambee Stars will play Tanzania’s Taifa Stars in an international FIFA day friendly match on November 13th in Tanzania.
Tanzania Football Federation (TFF) Chairman Leoagar Tenga confirmed they had agreed with his Kenyan counterpart Sam Nyamweya for the match.
“ We are happy,we were able to speak with Nyamweya who invited us for a friendly match. It is a good opportunity for our teams to engage all their professionals and check on the local based ones going for the regional Cecafa tournament”Observed Tenga.
This comes just weeks after the two Federations agreed to forge a good partnership that will see both nations engage in exchange programs and support each other towards the growth of regional soccer.
FKF has announced that all foreign players who featured for the Harambee Stars during the South Africa friendly match in Nairobi in October will be called in for the friendly match.
Earlier reports had indicated that Macedonia had invited Kenya for a friendly match on the same dates but this could not be actualized due to logistical difficulties.
Coach Henry Michel is expected to release names of the players who will join camp soon in preparation for the friendly match and the forthcoming CECAFA tournament that will be held in Kampala Uganda.
14th of November has been listed on the FIFA calendar as a recognized FIFA friendly match day.
