Harambee Stars squad is named

Stars Coach Michel

By Fred Maingi
Kenya’s  Harambee Stars French born coach Henry Michel has named a
strong squad of 28 players who will start a three day  residential
camp.
The provisional squad will head to camp at the Nairobi’s Moi
International Sports Centre, Kasarani, on Monday for a three-day camp.
The  top five clubs in the Kenya Premier League(KPL) have  dominated
the squad. They include Tusker, AFC Leopards, Gor Mahia, Sofapaka,
Thika United and Ulinzi Stars  who boast of the majority of the
players.
Sony Sugar’s Enock Agwanda is the only player outside the top six
clubs to have been drafted in the squad.
AFC Leopards’ lead strikers Allan Wanga and Mike Baraza make a
comeback to the national team same as Sofapaka’s Bob Mugalia.
Moses Odhiambo, Solomon Nasio and Chris Wekesa all from Gor Mahia have
also earned themselves the coveted call up.
After producing some impressive performances, Gor’s Moses Odhiambo and
defender Donald Mosoti have earned a call up to Henri Michel’s first
squad since he took over as coach of the national soccer team Harambee
Stars last month..
Gor and Sofapaka dominate the list of 28 players released on Thursday
by the Football Kenya Federation.
The 34-year-old Odhiambo who has been capped three times before has
been impressive for Gor with his indefatigable performances while
Mosoti who started off shaky at the heart of K’Ogalo defence has grown
with confidence.
Ulinzi’s Wycliffe Ochomo, who scored in his side’s 1-0 win over
Sofapaka last weekend, has also earned his first ever call up same as
Thika United’s John Nairuka.
Michel has been attending league matches alongside his assistants and
his squad is majorly made up of players he has watched in action.
