Know your MPS:Migori County

Migori county is found in the Western side of Kenya bordering Homa-Bay,Kisii and Narok counties.It has five constituencies  Rongo,Migori,Uriri,Nyatike and Kuria.

1.Rongo
Rongo is represented in Parliament by Public Service Minister Mr.Dalmas Otineo Anyango who was born in 1945.He was educated at Strathmore for his A levels between 1966 and 1967 then went to Makerere University for his Bachellor of Science Economics between 1968 and 1971.

His message to Kenyans always has been work and ensure a harmonious  environment for all.

2.Migori
John Dache Pesa is the current Member of Parliament for Migori.The 1946 born legislator is a Bachelor of  Education,Science graduate from  Nairobi University but prior to that attended Kenya Science Teachers College for a diploma in Education,St.Joseph`s Rapogi for Secondary Education.

Between 1971 to 199 he worked as a teacher rising up o the level of  Principal Teachers training school at a college in Nairobi.

He has an interest in football,farming,guiding and counseling and advices Kenyans to contribute their field towards uniting Kenya and enhancing development of all humanity and regions.

3.Uriri
The local Member of Parliament is Cyprian Ojwang Omollo whom his constituent blame him for being too quiet especially in Parliament and yet they elected him to speak for them.

4.Nyatike
Edick Peter Omondi Anyanga is the MP for Nyatike and is considered to be average by his constituent though they say he has talked in Parliament for a few time.They blame him also for being too emotional at times but concur that he is a man who likes things being done on time and the way he wants it.
They also credit him for initiating several development projects in the area.

5.Kuria
Dr.Wilfred Machage Gisuka who is from a small  community of Kenya but one of the majority in the neighboring Tanzania is the MP for Kuria.He was born on August 10,1956 and is married with five children.

Machage who is an Assistant Minister for Roads was once forced to resign as An Assistant Minister when he faced an incitement case in the court but was recently reinstated after a court dismissed the case.
He holds a Bachelor of medicine and surgery from Nairobi University which he attained after studying between 1976-1983.

He did his A level at Chavakali High School in Western Kenya in 1975.Machage once worked as a medical officer and advices Kenyans, “We are one people with diverse ethnic backgrounds. Kenya is our mother”
