Administration Police patrol Indian Ocean

By Fabian Kalabayi

Administration Police recently received a donation of patrol boats from the Government of United Kingdom and launched in Lamu recently by the force Commandant Mr. Kinuthia Mbugua alongside representative from the UK Government.

The speedboats were handed over to the AP rural border patrol unit and AP border sea operation unit which patrol along the Coastal region and can patrol into deep sea of the Indian Ocean .

Mbugua has been credited with bringing positive changes in the Administration Police force during his tenure and is mentioned as one of the top contenders for the position of Governor in a Cosmopolitan Nakuru County which is the capital of Rift Valley Province in Kenya when the General election are held next year though he himself has remained mum on the issue.

A spot check by PFJ team in Lamu established that the unit Police are carrying out their duties well to prevent pirates and Al-Shabaab fighters from crossing over to Kenya as the joint forces in African Mission in Somalia (AMISOM) which Kenya Defense Forces has contributed a good number of troops to it continue to defeat them in the African country which has not seen peace for the last 21 years.
