Kenya`s pledge on Kismayu takeover
Kenya has today through her Chief of the
Defense Forces said that it`s a matter of time before the lucrative port of
Kismayu falls from Al-Shabaab fighters in Somalia to African troops battling
them.
Speaking at the Department of Defense
headquarters during a ceremony to rehat the Kenyan forces into African Mission
in Somalia on Friday,July 06 Karangi said the issue of taking over Kismayu port
from Al-Shabaab is not a big deal as all strategies have been put in place and will
be a concerted of all forces fighting the Al-Qaeda linked terror group
Al-Shabaab and not only a Kenyan force in that country issue.
He also said that Kenya will not be cowed by
the terrorists to leave Somalia until their mission to pacify the lawless
country which has not seen peace for the last 21 years is over.
The ceremony was also attended by the African
Union Special representative for Somalia and head of mission to Amisom
Ambassador Boubacar Diarra,Kenya`s Minister for Defense Mr.Yusuf Haji and
United Nations Special Ambassador to Somalia Augustine Mahiga.
Also present was the special representative
of the African Union Commission for Somalia Mr.Wafula Wa Munyinyi and Amisom
